Shelby Thibodeaux

Shelby Thibodeaux’s journey in golf instruction began at the renowned Hank Haney Golf Ranch in Dallas, where he built a foundation under some of the game’s most respected mentors. After earning his degree from the Golf Academy of America, he chose to relocate to Houston—one of the most competitive golf markets in the nation—to pursue elite player development at the highest level.

A lifelong student of the game, Shelby has trained with many of golf’s most accomplished instructors, including Butch Harmon, Chris Mayson and Elite Golf Schools to name a few. This exposure to world-class coaching has shaped his modern, data-driven, and results-focused approach to long-term player development.

As the Director of Junior Golf at WindRose Golf Club and the Director of Eclipse Golf Academy, Shelby has built one of the largest and fastest-growing junior academies in the United States. Since 2018, he has grown the program from zero to over 500 active students, expanded the PGA Jr. League from one to eighteen teams, and elevated summer camps to full capacity. He has personally taught more than 6,000 lessons and guided countless juniors into competitive golf.

Shelby has been recognized multiple times as a Top 50 U.S. Kids Golf Coach, earned the prestigious U.S. Kids Golf Master Coach Award, and was named an Operation 36 Top 50 Coach, reflecting his leadership in junior development.

Specializing in tournament player development, Shelby works with athletes of all ages and skill levels, providing structured improvement plans and accountability-based coaching to help each golfer reach their highest potential.

Garrett Nobles

PGA Head Professional

Nationally Recognized Junior Development Leader • Elite Performance Coach

Garrett has over 13 years of teaching experience. He has been involved in the golf industry for most of his life and has a strong passion for the game. He believes each person has a unique swing and the key to a successful lesson is introducing improved fundamentals and mechanics to that swing. Garrett specializes in developing the swings of juniors as well as short game mechanics, and believes it’s never too early or late to improve your golf game. He will work with you to design a package that best fits your needs.

Garrett’s professional accomplishments include being named a Top 50 instructor in the state of Texas by Golf Digest, being named the Youth Player Development Award Winner for the South Texas PGA, and he graduated from the PGA Golf Management Program at Sam Houston State University in 2013. In 2016 he was named Head Golf Professional at WindRose Golf Club making him the youngest member of his graduating class to earn the title. Garrett is also the head golf coach of the 2017 state champion Frassati Catholic High School. He is a “Class A” PGA Professional and a Certified Teaching Professional. Garrett is a certified club fitter for Ping and Callaway as well as a Callaway products expert. He brings energy and enthusiasm to each lesson and looks to create a positive judgment-free environment for his students to learn and grow their game.

Private Coaching FAQs

Please meet us at our teaching center located on the left side of the practice range.

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to warm up on the range. You can get free balls to warm up with at the pro shop. Just tell them you have a lesson with one of our instructors.

The Academy does not have rental clubs available, however, the pro shop has rental clubs you can borrow for your first lesson if needed. If you need equipment, please arrive 10-15 minutes early in the Golf Shop and ask for a rental set to borrow for your lesson.

Following each lesson, you will receive a video recap (upon request) of what you need to work on delivered to your personal locker in USchedule.The training space is FREE and will be set-up during your first appointment if you haven't set it up prior to lesson.

Please let us know if you can't make it at least 24 hours in advance so we may open your time to other guests. Day of appointment cancellations will be charged 50% of lesson fee or half a credit if signed up for package. No call no shows will be charged 100% if lesson fee.
